NOW Australia was established in March 2018 as a response to the global #MeToo movement.
We are a non-profit, non-partisan organisation for people who have been sexually harassed, assaulted or intimidated at work.
We are a fearless advocate and campaigner for sexual harassment reform across all sectors and industries.
We are committed to working with government, business, as well as the community and legal sectors to make work as safe as possible for everyone.
At NOW Australia, we believe that the key to eliminating sexual harassment from Australian workplaces involves three interrelated steps:
- Better prevention
- Stronger regulation
- More effective support.
When sexual harassment happens at work, most people will not report it or seek support. They simply don’t know where to turn, are afraid that they won’t be believed or fear retaliation.
Over the next three years, we will continue working with both government and non-organisations who are also committed to working for better prevention and stronger regulation.
However, we believe that the area where we can have the most impact in the short term is ensuring that people who experience workplace sexual harassment receive adequate assistance and support. For this reason, over the next three years, we will focus on ensuring that people experiencing sexual harassment can access more effective support.
With your help, we can raise our voices, support survivors and eliminate sexual harassment at work for the next generation.
